BRAZIL FISHING REPORT NOVEMBER 1-7, 2016
/ Fishing reports / BRAZIL FISHING REPORT NOVEMBER 1-7, 2016
We would like to share with you our experience of fishing for one of the most varied exotic freshwater trophies – the payara or the vampire fish.

Watch the program about fishing for this unique predator made in November, 2016 in Brazil during our fishing with Evgeny Danilichev and his friends.

The fish is also called Characin, the wolf-fish, or the vampire-fish. And as we repeatedly noted in our previous fishing reports, the fish justifies all these names! It’s a real monster capable of breaking a powerful braided fishing line when it strikes, it can bite twenty-centimeter wobblers through, and can create a monstrous resistance, and by all means, it is worth catching at least once in a lifetime!

The world record is 17.8 kg. The fish is incredibly strong, and you can hardly find another rival which can be compared to this “beast”.

Together with the fishing for payara in the lodge located far away from civilization, we made a fascinating cruise on a yacht on one of the largest and richest in interesting fishing places rivers in Brazil – the Rio Negro.

Constant movement along the water area, change of landscapes and places of fishing, these are the advantages of having a yacht as a floating base.

There was a spacious yacht and 4 boats at our disposal. The local guides knew the water area perfectly. We were divided, 2 anglers per boat, and each crew chose what species their fishing would be aimed at.

One of the major freshwater trophies in Brazil is certainly the peacock bass, and we could not bypass it with our attention!

The fish from Amazonia is not only a trophy, its gastronomic qualities are also worth mentioning. Every dish cooked by the Chef on our yacht was perfect, and all the anglers appreciated the food.

Our barbecues on the loveliest beaches could compete with the best meat and fish restaurants in Brazil.

We also took time to get acquainted with the Indian tribes living on the banks of the main river and its numerous tributaries.

All the participants of our busy trip will remember dances with the Indians, acquaintance with their traditions and way of life.

Amazonia is famous not only for its fishing. Everyone will find here a lot of interesting things to do and a lot of new experiences.

Together with the fishing tours in Brazil we organize exotic fishing around the Amazon River basin: Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Guyana, and Suriname. Fishing cruises of any level, base camps, luxury fishing lodges, and true expeditionary tours.
