BRAZIL FISHING REPORT JUNE 10-14, 2016
/ Fishing reports / BRAZIL FISHING REPORT JUNE 10-14, 2016

Due to the fact that our clients want to keep their privacy I post only my photos.

We came to the fishing area by a 12-seater Cessna Caravan private aircraft from Manaus.

There were spacious rooms with air conditioning in the lodge.

We had breakfast, prepared the tackle and went fishing. We were impressed with the breathtaking scenery.

Our first trophies were quite worthy representatives of the Amazonian predators.

There was plenty of fish and we tried to catch the maximum amount of different species in a variety of ways.

For 4 days of fishing we caught 5 different species of catfish!

After fishing, in the evening we gathered on the open terrace of our lodge to discuss the results of such an exotic fishing and tell each other about our achievements. The waiters met each boat at the pier with the appetizers and caipirinha, and sometimes we stayed in the open air till dinner.

    We released most fish,

but at the same time, we did not miss the chance to degust various trophies which tasted delicious.

One day, we went to a remote river, had a barbecue in the open air and then a siesta in hammocks.

The trip was quite efficient, and not only because of the quantity of trophies, but also because of the opportunity to observe nature.

In addition to the amazing scenery, the anglers on the first boat saw a jaguar hunt the Amazonian otters!

The main fresh water trophy in Brazil is the peacock bass. Some specimens can reach great sizes!

The rivers we fish in are characterized by a great variety of trophies, so, here you have a unique opportunity to fish for different fish species, such as: the peacock bass, payara, bicuda, aruana, trahira, jacunda, various catfish species, piranha, pacu, tambaqui and other trophies.

Such a variety of species is due to an extremely unusual character of the rivers. Here you can find fast rivers clamped by huge blocks and sand beaches where payara are waiting for you, where powerful bicuda are waiting for their prey and deep whirlpools densely populated by a variety of catfish species.

I would like to draw your attention to the payara also known as the vampire fish or the wolf-fish.

It inhabits the most fast water sections of the river where no other fish can live! It is a ferocious predator capable of tearing the braided fishing line with the test of 50 lb. It bites 20 cm wobblers through, exerts a monstrous resistance and, by all means, it is worth catching at least once in a lifetime!

In general, according to different data, there are from 2000 to 3000 different fish species in the Amazon River!

Each day of our trip was rich in pleasant events, excellent trophies and new experiences, but the most exciting was the fly fishing on sandbars where peacock bass and aruana became our trophies.

The zone of our fishing is completely free from malaria, yellow fever, zika, dengue or any other diseases caused by insects as there are NO mosquitoes (Aedes и Haemogogus) which can spread such diseases here.

It is possible to come here without being vaccinated!

The total water area, 400 square meters including 3 rivers, 5 tributaries, and about 200 lakes, is under the protection of the state (there are 2 national parks and 3 territories of Indian tribes). There will be no other anglers here except the local Indians.

The acquaintance with the Indian tribes can be included into the program,

as well as a yacht cruise on the Rio Negro River,

it is also possible to visit the place of the confluence of the Rio Negro and the Amazon River,

to swim with the fresh water dolphins,

to go to the Iguazu Falls,

    or arrange other interesting excursions.
