During the Spring, the Madison River between Hebgen Lake and Quake Lake hosts a large run of spawning Rainbows. In this photo, the jumbled water is what a riffle looks like from below the surface. Brightly colored rainbows stack up on these gravel bars to spawn and their reds are often victims to unknowing anglers’ plodding feet.
